Talked to the Dealer about the Challenger!!!

In case you guys missed my post in the Challenger Petition Forum....I talked to the service manager at Dodge today, and he said the Challenger would be hitting dealerships as early as next Spring or as late as next Sept/Oct. He also said it would carry a $42K price. I hope he meant after the $5-8k markup he was talking about for the first batch like they did with the PT's. I won't buy one until they are priced by sticker, not by demand. And preferably after they start taking F/F discounts if they ever do for this car.

Man, what the #@[email protected]#%%!!! I had two guys telling me that today. One was the service manager, and the other was a manager or something. He was bossing people around...hehe. 2010 works for me though. I need to pay off the old Ram first. Cause I don't want to get rid of it, and I want time to save up some $$$ for the Challenger. I don't want huge payments. Was the $42k sticker accurate. That seems high to me from what I had heard before. I thought it was going to be comparable to the Charger $$.

I guess it would be comparable to the SRT 8 Charger if they put the 6.1 in it....

I love the car. Absolutely love it. But, 42,000 plus markup to almost 50K? They can keep it for that kind of money. I paid less than half that for my 06 quad cab Hemi 4x4 w/20's and we all know that trucks are the most profitable for the automakers because of the profit margins on these vehicles. What ever happened to the pony cars being "affordable".

The Boss is right. SRT8 starts at 38,700. The Challenger is going to be produced at 30,000 cars a year. That comes out to 2 cars per dealer per month. So you can figure how much they will be asking for them. If you are not first in line the whole first year will be sold before they get a single one on the lot.

...and I won't buy anything that I can't put through it's paces. Especially anything over $1,000, let alone $38,000.

2010 models? I guess they don't know if they are really ever gonna produce it. Sounds like Vapor Ware
when is the new Camaro due out?
Will they be HiPo! models.
If they are - Dodge will be late to the plate..
Too Bad for Dodge..
