New F-150 V8

I've brought this up before but I thought I would talk about it again now that there is some truth to it. I was on Motor Trend's website today and I was looking around in their future vehicles area and found this:
"2007 Ford F-150: New Hemi-caliber V-8 launches with the F-150 and will spread to other trucks and even cars in the Ford portfolio. Still in development, this 6.2-liter engine will produce around 350 horsepower."
I found it interesting that Chevy and now Ford, apparently, have finally got on the ball to come out with an engine to compete with the 5.7 HEMI.
I really hope this means DCX will decide to drop the 6.1 HEMI in the Ram in an effort to stay on top.

I love the fact that Ford needs a 6.1 liter and Chevy needs a 6.0 liter engine just to make 5 more horsepower than our 5.7 liter HEMI !

ROCK ON !

It would take very little effort for DCX to make the 5.7L 360 h.p.

Remember they hold the keys to the PCM and they could tweak a little more out of it to stay on top.

I think we can always be confident that as long as DC uses the "Hemi" design, then Dodge trucks will always be on top.

Whats even worse is that Chevy needs a 7.0L race engine, to make LESS horsepower and a lot less torque than the new 6.4L Hemi.

The 6.4L has much smaller valves, a smaller cam, less compression, has a iron block, and uses no titanium parts that I'm aware off

Ford can't even build a 500 H.P. N/A engine....

Graphemi,
The 6.4 Hemi is a crate engine Mopar came out with at SEMA. I think the numbers were 510hp/535ft-lb tq.
Anyways, there was a whole thread about it in the general discussions area, check it out there.

They are making there SRT8's 6.4 litres and about 500hp. The Viper 600hp. So they can drop the 6.1 in the new ram without calling it a Ram Srt8. Also a 6 speed automatic tranny is looking good for the 09 ram.

Like 03 said, it is funny they need another half a liter of motor to produce the same power, and funny thing is the Chevy motor they put in the Caddy's that has over 400 hp is not any quicker than the Hemis with over 50 more hp. Huh......
