For those of you with 2014 Rams

This covers some Cherokees and 200's as well...

Shock(ing) defect leads to Jeep, Ram, Chrysler recall

Chrysler Group has recalled nearly 22,000 of it highest-profile new models because the rear shock absorbers might detach.

Affected are the new-model 2014 Jeep Cherokee crossovers, Ram 1500 pickups and the just-launched 2015 Chrysler 200 sedans.

The issue was identified by a supplier. Chrysler Group says it knows of no injuries, accidents or complaints related to the issue.

The company says the problem is that, due to an insufficient weld, the rear shocks might detach from the vehicle at one end and possibly damage other chassis components or the tire, or result in reduced braking ability -- any of which would increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler estimates 21.760 vehicles are involved: 14,300 in the U.S., 5,300 in Canada, 160 in Mexico and 2,000 elsewhere.

Chrysler plans to begin notifying owners this month, and dealers will inspect the rear shocks and replace any affected ones for free.

I called the Chrysler number and since i didn't get a letter they basically told me to piss off. The lady I spoke with was quick to dismiss me and my concerns. All but hung up on me.
