First trip to the dealer

I've only had my 2013 Laramie Longhorn for 3 weeks and already have an issue with the door locking system. As usual, They couldn't reproduce the issue at the dealer once I got there but it happen every time at home.

This is what happens. I pull into my driveway, put the truck in park, turn the ignition off, open the drivers door, push the door lock button on the inside of the drivers door and close the door behind me with the FOB in my pocket. When I finish doing all of those things, the horn honks three times and the door unlocks. No I do not have the extra FOB in the truck.

The strangest part is, when I went to the dealer with this issue, it did just like it does at home when I first got there but they could not make it do it again afterwards. As soon as I got home it started doing it as it did before.

I wonder if it's because we're close to Halloween.

Oh no I think I posted in the wrong place. Heck of a way to start huh?

Nope, it does not. I know I could use the FOB to lock it but I should be able to lock it from the driver door panel as well. Others tell me they can lock theirs that way. The dealer tell me that I should also be able to lock it from the door panel. I can also lock it by pushing the small lock button on the outside of the door handle but if something is supposed to work a certain way, I kind of expect it to work that way.

Mine works the same as above. In my experience you will never get it to work incorrectly at the dealership--it's just something I have learned to live with when trying to show the service writers a problem with my truck---it never malfunctions My only suggestion is you might bring your truck to the right side of the Red River and then it might work correctly---

Funny you should say that. My new 2013 Laramie Longhorn came from Coleman's Jeep, Dodge, RAM dealership in New Boston, Texas. Fooled you didn't I?

Try tossing the fob to someone after you shut the truck off that's a bit farther away than when you first **** the door the proximity sensor may be acting up

Another common issue is the door handles act up with the auto unlock feature

I've already tried that. It works sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. The problem is to be able to reproduce it at the dealer. You know the old saying, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it."
