Exhaust manifold and extended warranty

Possible missing link on warranty issues

I noticed on many forums and totally makes common sense that the manifold would extract and retract and warping causing the stud to break which causes the.

You can only bend a wire so many times till it breaks.

I have the same problem where the iaSal Extended warranty covers manifold but does not cover the studs and the dealer just reports Stud broken and Manifold is warped, they immediately refuse to apply the warranty.

But now if we can get some engineer to support that the Manifold broke the stud it becomes a different story and why claim the stud as being the cause first the place, it should be reported the manifold warping caused the stud to break not some lame excuse that the surface rust on a stud has weakened and broke, I don't buy that. There is another force that is certainly the cause and that must be the manifold temp change.

If that is the case maybe the Stud manufacture needs to come clean with their faulty

Fix above paragraph

It makes common sense that the manifold would extract and retract from heat which puts pressure on the stud and warps causing the stud to break not the other way around

Oh yes it makes perfect sense. The manifold heats up it expands cools of retracts some. This action is what breaks the studs they don't just break. So the fact that the dealership won't warranty them is a total bs thing that they have found a loop hole to. I would not take that crap for a second but then again I will never go to a dealer I just fix it myself.

Extended warranty success

Well the extended warranty finally agreed to cover broken studs on the manifold due to the manifold being the cause of the broken stud. They clearly understand that it is best to cover quickly or they would end up paying twice as much in man hours of their employees as I will not quit and let them off that easy which I certainly let them know I am not a quitter and have agreed that the studs are now manufactured smaller in diameter then before making the stud weaker and breaks off and is a common problem in many vehicles today.

When the check comes in I will post it.
