180 degree themostat

Hello all,
I ve been doing some research on the Hyper Pac.
The specs indicate that it works well with a 180 degree thermostat. In theory helping the engine run cooler. We all know thats good. Any experience or knowledge out there? So far Ive only found a thermostat from JET Performance.

I was talking with ACCSTEEL yesterday at Dyno Day... he has installed a 180 degree thremo - and loves it. Don't recall the brand name, but he said it was a super easy mod and the truck is more responsive now.
I'm sure when he sees this thread he'll chime in!!

The 800-180 pt.no. at autozone is correct. It's a 63mm 180 deg. thermostat. Is being replaced w/ another, but for now the 800-180 will reference you to the new no. Just remove 1 gal. using petcock at bottom rt of radiator and remove top radiator hose conn (I removed both radiator and eng connections, rad side first to remove coolant in hose) using 13mm socket (2 bolts) to remove housing. Pull thermostat straight out and carefully remove gasket on outside edge of ther. Place removed gasket on new ther. and reverse steps. I also used a bottle of redline water wetter when replacing removed coolant. Over 500 mi's with no problems. Eng seems more responsive.

Yes it sure is.
The 800-180 will work too, but my autozone didnt have it so I had to do some legwork and cross it at advance auto.

Dang, so does this mean the 63mm STANT 13078 I am holding in my hand is wrong?

I don't think so. 63mm and 180 deg sounds good to me.

WarHarmmer, it is a sweet mod. I done this back in August of last year and I also have been using Royal Purple Ice as well and I have had no prombles as of yet and the Hemi really runs cool. The part #800-180 is what I used from AutoZone.
