Question Tone Ring

I have a 2007 Quad Cab 1500 that has a damaged tone ring with no other damage found. It has three damaged teeth in one location. There were no parts or pieces found. Has anyone else found this same problem?

Yes it runs strong just the brake light coming on after the ABS code is cleared. I haven't had any problems others have had like the speedometer not working properly and the ABS light coming on. Until I connected my scan tool to my truck, I had no idea my problem was related to the ABS system.

What ring are we talking about

Tone ring in hub assembly is not visible 2wd truck
Tone wheel on axle (I think 4wd fronts)
Tone wheel in diff in rear
Or eng tone ring inside motor

The tone ring located in the rear differential that works with the rear wheel speed sensor. I have seen where other owners have had damage to the tone (exciter) ring and didn't find anything else damaged. The ones with other damage had a limited slip differential which had clutch parts and clips come loose and damaged the tone ring, pinion gear, ring gear and bearings. My problem should be fixed with the installation of a new tone ring. The speed sensor was already replaced.

I got my truck back this morning, after it spent a week in a repair shop. The tone ring was replaced along with the ABS control module. It is raining here so I will have to see how everything is doing as far as braking, transmission shifting, and any noise coming from the differential. So far it has performed very well.
