Mopar calls for 4oz. to be added when changing the rear-end fluid on a 1500.

How much should you use with a larger-capacity diff cover?

You might check the gear oil you are using, most all already have the additive added.

Your cover look's a lot like mine. It adds a little more capacity, but your only looking at 1/2 pint. You may want to call and see how much yours is. Some fluids don't require that you add the additive. I used amsoil (doesn't require it unless you get some chatter) and deceided to put the additive in anyway. IIRC the additive treat's 2 to 4 qts. so 4oz. should be plenty if you want/need to use it.

Lightbulb

4 oz. is sufficient - don't overdo it! If you use Royal Purple you don't need it at all - it's already there .

I used the whole 7 oz. tube when I put the PML cover on. As I recall, it uses about 50% more fluid.
