With a higher stall TC (2800+), it will absorb some of the hard shifts at part throttle. The Sharadon stage III with the Smart Tech hub and Sonnex line booster. It had a nice shift to it with the Edge 2800 TC. With the Torque Management wire disconnected (03). After installing the oem TC, the stage III has a hard shift now. More throttle I give it, the harsher the shift gets. With the 03 having a stock engine and tune in it now, the hard shifts are annoying on a stock daily driver truck. Was actually thinking of reconnecting the Torque Management wire to see if it helps reduce the shift harshness from the stage III.

Don't think the TM will soften it any, but the 2800 edge will work well with a relatively stock engine and as you said soften the shift.

Daily driving the stock 03, she doesn't have the hp/tq of these new trucks. Really miss the rv cam and the turbo power. She had instant respect with a foot stomp away.

Trans relearn is done. Cruised the truck home. 12 miles. The ATS trans shifted very nice. The Copilot looks like it's working. The only thing I didn't like is the trans temp was 150 degrees when I pull the truck into the driveway. It shouldn't be that hot. I installed a 3500 trans cooler to keep the trans cool. Maybe because it's a new trans and it needs to be worn into with normal driving. Will contact Clint on this subject.

In the city.

Contacted Mike at ATS. He said the new 545rfe trans running the higher trans pressure does run hotter. 180 degrees is normal operating temp. After taking the 05 for another cruise around town. The temps run from 150 to 160 degrees. The ATS trans is operating great. Shifts nice and crisp.

Time to let clutches break in under normal street/highway driving. We still have lots of street tuning to do. Not rushing the boost tuning. One step at a time.
charged392 and SUPER BEE like this.

Watching the video, I knew I made the right decision. Those OD clutches will never handle that boost. 800hp, not under that boost, weight and heat. I'm really hoping it works out proving everyone wrong. Pulls real hard. I wish you the best.

If anyone can build a much better 545rfe trans, it would have to be ATS diesel. Clint has all of the resources and the knowledge to do it. I'm all in.

Don't get me wrong, would love to have an 8 speed trans. Just don't have that kind of money to swap it in...
