ATS Transmissions?

I've been thinking about a Sharadon trans when mine finally craps out but then at the same time I could probably do a manual trans swap for about the same price.

BUT I just found that ATS builds these 545rfes and it sounds like they have them figured out. The shop I used to work for is a certified ATS dealer and I am still real close with the shop so I could probably get a good deal plus they have 5 year 500,000 mile warranty.

On one hand I hate automatics (especially the gearing in our trans) but I'd like to at least try one built auto in my life. Plus it's a lot easier to stick with an auto than convert it to stick.

I was wondering if anyone had ever tried an ATS. I did a search and didn't find a single post.

The price and warranty isn't bad at all. Definitely have less problems than the stage III. I almost bought one of these. Wish now I would have tried it first. Pretty sure Jerry's trans is going to be more expensive....

ATS has been nothing but problems in these trucks, and trying to get them to actually honor their warranty is even tougher than trying to make their transmission hold up.

The honest answer is that there is not a built transmission on the marker right now that is really worth your time or money. Jerry seems to have something going now with the SuperStreet/Sonnax build he's working on though, so I would hold off for results on that before settling with an ATS transmission.

I have seen failures from every built transmission on the market. Making a transmission last has more to do with how you drive the truck than what is in your transmission. Dont do any WOT downshifts and dont do any top speed runs where you hit 4th gear at WOT and you will be fine.

I'm still running a stock transmission in my truck with 80k miles, and it has seen its fair share of abuse at the track...I am just very careful about how I drive it on the street.

Here's one that will hold up to anything the Hemi can through at it.

That's the most serious transmission I have seen so far. I'll certainly hurt buying it, but for all practical purposes it'll only need to be done once. As for the T-56. I would recommend anyone considering one to first drive one and see if they like it or not. The T-56 I have in my QC, I would not want in Redtruck.

Yep if you're going without the extra pedal this should be a once-and-done fix .

I honestly don't know. But my readout on my qc says it's a T56.

Let me add that I did drive a SRT V10 truck and it felt the same as my qc trans.
