Dropped my pan to see if anything out of the ordinary showed up. There was some metal shavings but no unusual amount of clutch powder. Now I just gotta wait for the holidays to get passed to send some parts out to get checked out

Drove into town early and got some highway and town driving in. Trans temps stayed under 160, nice shifts. The converter is loose enough that normal driving is firm not harsh. Shifting into OD with converter unlocked is barely noticeable. I like to LU in 3rd, makes for good cruise 40-45 mph range. Very good street manners. But IMO, the stall (3500) is higher than most folks would like in a street truck.

Actually the action of an bungee cord and torque converter stall is a good analogy. If you have a torque converter in a heavy truck it will slip more (higher stall) then if it was in a light truck. (Less stall). Same as a bungee cord. The heavier the load the more it will stretch before acting as a solid rope. (Stall) that little over stretch felt before settling back to being solid is flash stall. Having a given truck with say a 2800 stall converter. Now if you replace the engine with one making more power it will increase the stall of the original converter because it is hitting the truck with more energy. Anything from traction to engine output will change stall.

I have been missing all the bungee analogies. I dont know why I dont get emails consistently for new posts. Ok so got new cooler in with 8an lines and fittings for about 2-3 weeks now. Morning pulling trailer to jobsite 130* This thing has not gone over 180*. This is with OD off, lockup on, and about 2500 rpm at 55mph. I am so happy with this setup. I pulled about 8000lbs of concrete and trailer yesterday. It was great. Thank you to all you guys who were guinea pigs for this swap. Now its onto planning a turbo upgrade for this thing. Already have the boost/vac gauge in place!! New trans temp gauge and moved AFR gauge over too.
