That's the second skin sound deadener on the outer door skin.

Made some more progress (slowly) on the sound deadening / equipment mounts. Gotta lay the signal and power cables and fit up the new carpet.
I added Luxury Liner Pro (Mass loaded vinyl with a closed cell foam backing) which has the sole intent of blocking noise (not reducing panel vibration). Stuff is really easy to work worth.

Pictures make posts fun:

Man, if you've ever trimmed up a new carpet kit (with the rubber underside) I don't envy you. That stuff is thick and... well it's a pain to cut! But I've got carpet!

I'm letting it bake / mold to the floor a bit in this nice West Texas sun, it'll get a final trim maybe tomorrow or Wednesday once it's settled down. Then bolt the amps and DSP, driver's seat (minimum) and put the new dash panel (with tweeters) in.

I did the same as your doing now, little over a year ago. The whole interior came out to swap it from my wrecked 03 to my 05. from headliner on down to the floor. all new speaker wiring amps and new carpet. I feel your pain. But with a really sharp blade its easy work.

I had some nearly new Friskars (?) sheers that I did the initial trimming with, that was a damned mistake. A simple utility knife with a sharp blade is W A Y easier (after cutting you know like 20')

It's supposed to be windy and raining for the next 2 days...
So I'm on hold, A G A I N.

I used my hook blades in the utility knife. Those things work great.
