I have some questions. First there are 6x9s in the doors? My grills are round, I have a 2003 ram 1500 HEMI. Did the 6x9s come in later models? Next what are the best speakers to install, I have a JVC HD radio head unit.

Yes, the grills on the '02-'05 models are round, but they are indeed 6"x9"s in the front doors.

As far as the best to use, everyone is going to have a different opinion. It really comes down to personal preference and how much $ you want to spend. Personally, I like my Kenwood Excelons.

Wouldn't a round grill on a 6x9 impeed the sound? I've been surfing crutchfield and they have only a few 6x9s, but a bunch of 5 1/2 and 6 1/2s. I'm just not sure what would give me the best sound, I like a nice balanced sound between lows, mids and highs.

I have the Kicker door speakers. They sound great! I bought the package with the dash speakers, but they also sell just the door speakers.

I heard those were nice, would they work with a 2003? Also I'm going to purchase the speakers through Amazon, got a bunch of gift cards for christmas. I'll check if I can get them through there. You're in KY? I'm going there in a couple of weeks for my father-in-law's birthday.

The installation instructions say 2005-2006. But they may fit a 2003.

Yeah, I'm in far West Kentucky not far from Paducah. Kentucky Lake is about 5 miles to the East of here. Where in Kentucky are you visiting?

They are in I believe central Kentucky, about 45 mins south of Louisville (and yes I know the correct way to say it...lol). They are right outside of Elizabethtown in Glendale. Glad we're taking a plane this time, the 11 hr road trips get old quick.

That's a good way from me, but I think we have some Kentucky members in that general area. You might ask on the general forum who is near there.

They should fit all from 03 to 08 and maybe the 09 if they put 6x9 and 5.25 speakers in them!!
