Ported or not for the Quad Cab underseat box

All-

I continue to work on my stereo upgrade. I removed the foam inserts from behind my DS600 Kickers in the door, what an INCREDIBLE difference. Sounds like a new stereo. But....I am going to go ahead with the dual 10" box for under my rear seats anyway. Figured why not!
There is a company selling boxes on Ebay called BrightStar. They offer a ported and a non ported box. Anyone have any opinion on this?? THe ported option is considerably more expensive. Since I am not looking to win any audio competitions, I thought the non-ported would be sufficient. I would like to hear from you guys first however before I drop the money!

Many thanks-

Ryan

I'm no expert, but I would say, generally, non-ported is better for rock and stuff like that and ported is better for rap and 'bass' type music. So depends on what you like to listen to.

Dan-o has it right. I like a sealed box regaurdless. It is just a tighter thump to it. Ported enclosures are more expensive cause it takes more math to build. I have built both but if a port isnt tuned correctly it sounds bad.

IMHO go sealed not ported.

Plus with a port the box has to be bigger.

+1... I have used 2 sealed and 1 ported box in the past. IMO, the sealed boxes sounded much cleaner, tighter, and provided overall better sound quality.

As always....I can't thank you folks enough. I ordered my non-ported box the other day. Now I will just have to find time to complete my amp wiring. The Kickers in my doors sound incredible now, so I have many folks waiting to hear her when the 10's go in.

This should be fun!

Thanks again-

Ryan
