Been thinking about the shifter a little more, I think I'll setup an interlok switch for "Park". If I turn off the engine and the shifter is not in "Park" I'll get ding ding key in the ignition alert. At least that'll make me check to see what's not right. And since that should be wired to the ignition switch which I intend to remove, I'll just need to figure out how it works. The proximity token I'll use to operate the doors along with the push button start. Won't be long until the door handles are gone. Then I'll need to sort out a switch, maybe a magnetic switch or a capacitive touch switch. More projects.... I love this stuff....
Edit: Looked at the Service Manual, simple enough to use a switch to simulate the ignition key being left in the switch if the trans is not in "Park" position when the door is opened giving a chime. The chime is a function in the Indicator Cluster activated by a grounded circuit.
