Brand Preference

Wanting to replace the radio in my El Camino. Any opinions on brands of car receivers? Looking for something in the $100 to $300 range. Looked at Best Buy. Pioneer seemed to me pretty good. What about Kenwood, Sony, JVC, Alpine?

I love my double din Kenwood receiver in my truck. I had a single din Kenwood in my truck before and it is an excellent unit too. I purchased my double din from Best Buy and they included free installation. I don't think a double din would work in your truck.

No double din will not work. MUST be a single din. There did seem to be some decent Kenwoods.

You will definitely not regret going with a good Alpine head unit.

I'm a Pioneer guy. Money matters so they are all pretty decent at that price range. Best Buy should sell garbage anyway. If you can find one that has the USB input in the back of the unit with a cable running to the glove box that would be good. Currently the '05 has a front input and I run a cable from there to the glove box. Not the cleanest look.

Have fun programming the unit.

Yeah, I don't shop at WorstBuy; although it's nice to be able to put your hands on it. I shop at Crutchfield, excellent selection, prices and customer support.
