anybody with an 08 h/u upgrade?

Alex "whitelight" told me he thought he had seen some people on here with flip-down face recievers in 08 rams. Crutchfield told me that the faceplate would catch on the install kit and would no work. Anybody got any info on this? Thanks in advance.

I've got a Kenwood headunit on my '07 (same as '08),and the face flips down to load the disc. I think the mounting kit I used was Scosche, and it works fine.

I have install kits for the 06-up Rams. In fact, I will be doing an install here shortly of a Kenwood head unit in my 08 with the kit I have. Thinking about doing a write up. Would you guys like me to do that for you?

I think that would be helpfull.I found that puting a a/m radio in can cost a lot. But i found a way around it.The stereo shop tryed to sell me a wire kit for the power feed for about $130.00 but all it did was make a hot lead.I don't use my cig lighter so i taped that wire so far so good, and saved a bunch.

The cig lighter is a great place to tape if you aren't running a lot of power. The wire obviously isn't designed to handle a ton of power going through it though.

I think a review would help a lot. I'm installing a kenwood excelon kdc-x792 (flip-down face) this weekend. I hope I can get it to work without any problems. I've never put one in before, but I think I can figure it out. Radio should be in tommorrow, try to get it done and will post some pics.

I installed the Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X792 and I did have to take a razor blade and trim off some of the plastic on the back of the install kit's trim ring and was not able to use the trim ring that the radio came with. Once I got everything hooked up and put in, it looks and works just like it should. I'm very satisfied with the results!
