2013 RAM 1500 base radio replacement facts

HI All,

Facts about 2013 RAM 1500 with the uconnect-3 AM/FM SRX radio.
One yes there is a bar in the back. %minutes and a saws-all took care of that.
Static resistance of all four speakers, yes I know there are six but they are NOT wired as six channels, all four static resistance of 3.8 ohms. In other words they are 4 ohm impedance speakers. I looked and looked for a straight answer on this and was never able to find one so here it is. The BASE RAM system is four channels at 4 ohms per.
I used the Axxess XSVI-6532-NAV harness interface on a Kenwood DNX570HD. Using this head unit and this adapter my rearview camera works just like it did with the factory cheapo radio. Still get the guide lines and they still follow the direction the truck is heading in.
The antenna adapter was AntennaWorks 40-EU55. There are two small guides that I needed to shave off. That took about 2minutes and a razor knife but it worked great and all is good. This is for 2002 and up Audi/VW. Doesn't make sense but it works!
While this was fairly expensive I am well pleased with the install took less than a day and I now have GPS, DVD, CD, HD Radio, Bluetooth, rear-view camera, and voice call.

Please understand this is not an easy install, however thanks to the folks at Crutchfield everything I needed was discussed and supplied with the head unit. Total cost $1040. That included the adapter, antenna adapter, face-plate kit, the head unit, and an Alpine camera that I will probably be returning to them if I can, because I like the rear-view mirror camera because of the guide lines and stuff. That will knock about $150 off the setup. So in the end it would have been about $900 and a day's work. I am happy with this and feel the cost was substantially less than any alternatives that were offered me.

I recently bought a Exact-Fit Aftermarket GPS Navigation and DVD Car Stereo from Exact-Fit GPS Navigation Factory Radio Replacements

I wanted to add an aftermarket radio, but all the forum posts showed that you had to remove the factory radio, and then cut the metal dash bracing to fit a double-din radio. And then I would have to buy a wiring harness adapter, a faceplate adapter, and a steering wheel adapter. After buying the $1200 Alpine Nav unit, I would be spending close to $1500!

Then I found Exact-Fit GPS Navigation Factory Radio Replacements. Their unit is an exact fit, so the brace does not need to come out. Plus the factory wiring harness plugs right into the radio... no cutting or splicing wires! And whats more, it totally integrates with the Ram... when you start the car, the Dodge logo appears on the screen. When you adjust the AC, it displays on the screen. Even the door opening displays on the screen. And the sound is awesome. I had no idea that the stock speakers would produce that bass! I guess the factory unit is very underpowered.

The install literally too only a few minutes. They even have a video of the Dodge Ram install on their homepage. I Shot the video, and they are using it! Check it out. Not only did I save around $1000 from the Alpine unit, but the radio looks 100% factory!

Back up camera

My truck has a back up camera that displays on the radio screen. Will this after market radio allow the camera to function. I watched the video, there was no mention of a back up camera.
