I tried the bluetooth iphone to car stereo option, it worked great for calls but music it often 'stuttered' so I went a different route. I got a cable AUX/charger to the original apple charging port (lightning or whatever they call it now), aux goes to the aux port in your stereo, charger goes to a 12v power source. That way when plugged in you have crystal clear music through hardwire, phonecalls via bluetooth and to top it off your phone is charging, which is always nice with an iphone!!
The bluetooth option always works, so if you just hop in your truck, the phone function will work, only needs to be plugged in for hardwire music/charging.
I don't even have a nav system anymore in my truck, always use the iphone's nav, something which isn't practical imo when the phone is not charging since the satnav eats iphone battery very fast.
Holder is brodit brand and stuck on whit double sided tape.
No drilling or anything required, this is on an 03.
Speaker for the carphone through the stereo.
