Burning oil

In about 5k miles my truck will eat up about 2qts of oil. I have no leaks, checked my tb not long ago(cleaned about 20k miles ago) an had a decent amount behind it. What's some ways to help this or is it something worse? I run 5w-30

I check my oil every couple weeks at least. Learned that with my first truck. That bad boy leaked oil like a mother!

Speaking of oil changes. I'm gonna do one on the truck today once I can get it back in my driveway. Got a guy doing some mason work and all his tools are laying in the way

Mine has only started using a bit. I get the occasional blue puff at start-up. Otherwise, nary a drop between changes.

Valve seals are usually the first to start leaking. Then possibly a intake gasket and of course cylinder leakage being the worse case. Maybe change seals during the next cam change. I run mine into the upper range somewhat often and am surprised I don't burn any oil. I did change seals when I did the valve springs a while back.

You mean like the seals on the valve covers? When we did the cam I got new front gaskets along with valve cover an the ones where the plugs go though the cover
