Do 35" tires slow me down that much?

I've been on the search for more horse power. I've been modding my truck according to the advise and help of the forum members. Everything I've done is in my sig below. I've yet to do the gears which I know will make the biggest difference specially running the 35's. My concern is I feel that my truck is still very slow and I sometimes have trouble passing in traffic. For example I was cut off earlier today by a jeep liberty and when I went to pass him in anger, he stepped on it and I couldn't get around him. Pissed me off. I know the truck is running good right now I've had it checked by the best (Keith). I'm concerned that the 35's are slowing me down and when I get the gears done it might still struggle to get me moving like I want it to. I was hoping to be the fastest truck on 35's in the forum lol or maybe the only one.

Would going to 33's make that much of a difference? Or am I in need of more major mods?

Going down tire size an doing gears will really wake it up. That's one thing I love about my truck the passing power is deff there I never worry about that lol

I could honestly feel a difference between having 20 inch wheels on my truck compared to 17s when it came to stopping power so I imagine it hinders accel as well

Oh the tires will make a diff as much as you think they won't. We also don't know the factory gearing if it's 3.55 then yes it will kill your acceleration. We will have to do the gears here shortly and then see I guess from there what happens.

Agreed, 20 inch factory wheels are 33 inch. Factory 17's are 31 inch. All factory installed 20's that I've seen came with 3:92 gear and most 17's with 3:55 gears. The gearing makes a big difference, but wheel weight also plays a big role. I'm afraid 35 inch wheels has taken the snap out of your hemi. I'm sure your mileage is poor also, you need gears and some more power to compensate for the wheels or be prepared for more embarrassment.

Thanks guys, I'll wait till I get the gears installed before going to 33's. I'm ready to get some power out of this truck. I'll post up how it runs when I get them done.

on my 13 ram quad cab 4x4 i changed out the stock 33" tires with some 35's and a leveling kit. i could tell i lost some top end power but it still gets out of its own way. 3.92 gears help.

4.56s and 225/60x17. That'll wake it up.

Gears are finally installed! Just the rear for now. Will have to wait till 500 miles after break in before I can step on it. We ran into a few hiccups along the way but it's on and runs smooth. I'll post how big of a difference it made after break in.

Thank you Keith once again for another great job.
