I am curious to see how these trans do after getting serviced now since they have been out for sometime now to cover this problem.

As far as fluid wise, in my opinion I wouldn't use anything other than what the factory uses. If you feel a jerk why not bring it in under your warranty. Maybe they'll find something wrong and you'll get a free flush out of it. Or it could be a new Tcm update.

I have experience with them in the BMW cars and SUVs not in the Rams yet! The BMW cars and SUVs all shift nice and firm to me but no clunks. If your having an issue have the dealer take a look like stated may be an update for the tcm. Only use the factory fluid in this trans. Of for some reason you do drop the pan the refil method is kinda tricky. I don't think the ram has a dipstick on this trans. If you do need that Info I will get it for you.

But yeah all info would be greatly appreciated. I'm having trouble finding the transmission pan filter. All dealers of the genuine zf pan filter are in Europe. And I don't feel safe buying from them. But yeah I'm gonna use zf 8 fluid. Down side is its very expensive. I thought about amsoil synthetic series. First I'm gonna get the diablo trinity if it doesn't help with the software then I will know I have a problem. I'm no longer under warranty.

Filter part number and price yikes!

Pan & Filter
68225344AA $335.00

Fill method
A unique transmission fluid has been developed for this transmission. This fluid is NOT compatible with ATF+4 or any other current Chrysler transmission fluid.

Jack truck up off the ground level front and rear wheels. Right rear of the trans there should be a round plug in the trans body not the pan. Fill thir this hole till fluid runs out of hole. Start truck and continue to fill until fluid runs from hole again. Get in truck put in reverse and hold for 10s put in drive hold for seconds then accel to second gear hold for 10 seconds put in park. Get under truck and pull plug again still running on the trans body not the pan. Fill with fluid till it runs from hole one last time and your done.
