help. struts or shocks?

Alright. So I have a 2013 Ram 1500 2wd with less than 50,000 miles on it. I went in this weekend to get an oil change and was informed that my drivers side strut was blown and that I needed to get both front struts replaced. I went ahead and told them to order them ASAP and I will come back and get it fixed immediately cause I don't want to drive around on it and screw up my alignment. When I left I thought it sounded a little fishy that my practically new 2 wheel drive truck that I only drive to and from work on the highway had a blown strut. So, I went somewhere else to have this confirmed and was told that my strut was in fact leaking.

Now, in the process of getting it fixed and talking to warranty place and the place who ordered the parts to have it fixed and I am being told that the shocks need to be replaced, no mention of a strut.

I was under the impression that a truck only had one or the other, shocks or struts. So which does a 2013 Ram 1500 2wd drive have?? Because I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone and it's not something I am familiar enough with obviously and I am trying not to get screwed here.

Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

This is my Ram. There are many like it, but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me my Ram is useless. Without my Ram, I am useless.
