241 Hemi Engine

I don't know anything about buying engines, new or rebuilt, but I thought I'd share this with you guys in case anyone is interested. This is not mine, nor am I looking to purchase this. And if you guys don't think it's a good deal, let me know and I'll take the link out.

241 dodge hemi

I too don't know if that's a good deal but it would be a neat engine IMO for a early dodge project.

Those were my thoughts. There's also a 2012 392 for sale around here for $3,500. Description says it had a bent rod, but didn't damage cylinders or crank...would need new rod, piston, oil filter housing, cooler and pump. If I had the money I would be looking into that...that would be sweet if you could put it in a 4th gen Ram.

I know, right? I read an article on one of the car sites about Dodge bringing back the SRT-10. They said it probably won't happen, but you could build something very comparable in performance by installing a 392. Maybe I'll win the lottery...

That is the smallest, of all the Hemis Chrysler ever made. Next to no performance pats available. I don't think it even had 200HP!

I thought there was a 331 hemi. So I looked it up and found that Desoto had a 276 and a 291. Dodge had a 270 and a 315. Iwas unaware that they made one as small as a241
I can remember when I was a teenager, going to a salvage yard that was full of old mopars with hemis still in them.
Anyway the lower displacement engines were heavy and did not make much horsepower. The 392 was a whole different story!

My...how far we have come to where we don't want even a truck with less than almost 400hp...

classichemi.com says this engine put out a whopping 140 bhp in the Dodge Meadowbrook and 150 in the Dodge Coronet Royal.
