Tranny issues

My truck is jumping way up in rpms to get the truck to move. I tried to pass an old guy doing 23mph in 40 mph zone. Rpms went up to nearly 6k. Truck felt like it was in mud. All fluid lvls are correct no tuner, just the line pressure solenoid.
Any idea? Also is there a site I can run my VIN to get part number or type of tranny? 2004 ram 2500 5.7.

Ok I called 2 dealerships in my area and got 2 Different part numbers and model numbers for my truck. Then I called Dodge directly and got complete different numbers.

Dealer 1: 45RFE Model, 5086265AD part #

Dealer 2: 545RFE Model, 5086265AD part #

Dodge HQ: 48RE Model, 05103351AA part#

WTH........I need help guys. On my equipment list (not original build sheet) it says I have 5 speed auto 545RFE. There are NO numbers or tags on my trucks tranny. I was gonna swap it out with another that matched up. Now I don’t know what to do. Can anyone point me in right direction please.

No doubt you have a 545rfe, there should be a tag on the driver's side just above the pan on the case. The dealer is the last place to get information... ps some old guys are harder to pass than others....

Thanks Red, How do I find out if a donor transmission will fit?
Mine: 545RFE/5086265AD
Donor:545RFE(I believe)/508626AA (2003 1500)

How do I find out if I can swap in donor tranny?

This tag should be metal, riveted to the case. Any 03-05 will work. Most likely all 545rfe will work, but I know 03-05 are good to go. To bad you aren't local. I have the trans I took out of my 03 in a shed.
